Tapatalk problem or am I slow

Postby Gunnibronco » Tue Nov 03, 2015 9:26 pm

This is not a CCB problem, but my ignorance of how Tapatalk is supposed to work.

I admit, I generally hate using my phone for anything more than a phone. Its a 3+ year old Casio/Android "Tough Phone", its not sleek or fast, but it serves me well. Its been dropped in water & kicked across concrete floors.

While I was in Austin I was forced to use it for email & CCB & other stuff. I was frustrated with how slow it was and took it upon myself to delete some crap off it. Well it allowed me to delete a fairly important component, that ironically, couldn't reinstall, because it needed itself to reinstall itself.

So, factory reset.

Reloaded Tapatalk. Before the reset, I hadn't updated Tapatalk in VERY long time, as I read lots of not-so-glowing reviews up the updates.

Now I can't figure anyway to search or find forums via Tapatalk. When I use the "search" bar at the top, it always yields 0 results.

I was able to use my browser to open CCB.com and it prompted me to use Tapatalk. So now I can see CCB via the Tapatalk main page. But when I use the browser to open CB.com, it doesn't prompt me to use Tapatalk. So, I cannot figure how to open CB.com via Tapatalk.

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling Tapatalk, and it remained the same. I even did another factory reset & reloaded everything, and it still is the same.

There has to be a way to find a forum via the Tapatalk main page.

I have nothing constructive to provide in the way of assistance. Sorry. I did a factory reset and restored from a previous save back in December. And I haven't updated tapatalk since.

You can get the earlier tapatalk apk here:

http://www.apkmirror.com/uploads/?dev=tapatalk-inc

Most complaints are for newer than tapatalk 4.9.5 which is the last one on the third page.

Another place with older:

Here are some instructions on installing an android apk manually:

Thanks I'll try that when I get a chance.

We're switching internet providers soon. Our Time Warner service has been horrible for the last 4-6 months, its forced me to use my phone more than I'd like. So this might be a less pressing need soon. But it would be nice to have it working.

And this thread is one more reason I have never downloaded the tapatalk app. Seems like just about every forum I follow has issues with it semi regularly.

My old version worked fine, for my needs. I sort of expected to dislike the latest, greatest version.

I'm pretty much unable to operate my web browser. Its a pretty small screen. Despite its downfalls, Tapatalk was better for me than the browser.
