tapatalk images not showing

Within the last week images from tapatalk have become invisible.
The only way to see them is to quote the message which gives me the link then open the link which downloads the image to my PC.

I'm currently using Chrome for my browser.

I've noticed the same on CB so this probably isn't a problem with this forum, but I don't use tapatalk even on my phone.

Maybe a notification for tapatalk users would help.

Have you tried using another browser to see if the problem is still present?

Don't know if you changed anything but the images work in Firefox and Qupzilla browsers.
I'll check Chrome again later.

I've noticed I can't see some images when I'm viewing the site via Tapatalk. Started with one of the latest upgrades to the app. I can see all the images via a web browser. It doesn't seem to be affecting CB or CO4x4. Not sure if the site plugin needs updating or something.

I've had problems with that as well. Seems more common when I'm on a cellular connection rather than WiFi.

I have an old version on a device and it works fine. The latest version fails on both of my Android devices. With travel for work and what not, I have to live vicariously through the photos posted. :-)

Here's what I've found with board images on Tapatalk. If you attempt to view a thread with photos while on cellular and your signal is not strong enough to support their download, you will usually have to refresh the thread page when in stronger signal or in wifi to get the pictures to load. Simply exiting the thread page and returning is not enough to load the photos.

To refresh any page in tapatalk, drag the page down and release. Exiting the page and returning does not launch a refresh.

All of that being said, photo sizes being generated by phones and uploaded to tapatalk or the board these days are pretty damn big. Many of the carriers out there are going to have trouble pushing enough data to support 26MB of the latest updates to some threads, 3G, 4G, LTE, it doesn't matter. I'm not asking people to cut back on photo size or the number of pictures they are uploading, just providing a somewhat plausible explanation for an issue.

I don't think it necessary for me to make analogies containing comparisons between weights of feces and the capacities of bags, is it?

I think this has a lot to do with the latest trends in app production. When 3G phones were the hotness, they were trying to shove 4G data sizes through the pipe. 4G saw LTE chunks coming your way. And now, well, your phone is trying to drink from a firehose.

I hate to say it, but I have not updated my Tapatalk on my phone in nearly a year. I didn't like that big jump that happened then and never upgraded since.

There could also be an issue with phpbb as our board skeleton. It might be time again to discuss a migration to vbulletin.

We actually hired that out to India a couple of years ago. I take it you haven't called tech support yet?
