Springfield XD9 400.00 COS

Postby akaFrankCastle » Tue Nov 17, 2015 6:13 pm

Picked this up a couple of years ago from a buddy at work. Put a mag through it and haven't touched it since. Has had about 200-300 rounds through it.

Comes with all factory accessories.

400.00 firm. Won't find a cheaper XD9 in Colorado. I've looked.

Cash at breakfast is cool and all but I'm afraid it's not that simple. The new Colorado gun laws that took effect in 2013 require any transactions involving firearms to go through a CBI background check; whether a new purchase of a transfer or a used firearm between private parties.

I plan to honor Steve's interest as the first person to chime in. And, in the event he loses interest, will let you and everyone else know when/if it becomes available to another buyer.

I knew about the cbi from businesses but I guess that I didn't connect the dots or even think about private party sales! How do you go about that?

Go to a place where they sell firearms, pay them to do the legwork, or it there a place online to download a form?

Just curious, have you done one of these before?
Thanks for the info.

Most private party sales will have to go to a shop and pay a minimum fee of $10 to get a background check. The law also has no cap to that fee and the state can raise it to what ever they feel is necessary. Just another way to keep us from buying more guns.

Rob is on it. The state has their fee, $10.00, and allows FFLs to charge on top of that to cover their costs. Most transactions will run you between 25-50 depending on the FFL.

If you're buying multiple at once, some FFLs will try to charge that fee per serial number. I have an FFL I use that charges a flat rate per 4473 (up to 5 serial numbers) when making a new purchase.

It has to go through an FFL and background check. The same goes for you giving your son a firearm. Has to have a background check.

Actually there is an exception in the mandatory background check law for bona fide gifts between immediate family members, among a few other unique situations.

If you LOAN a firearm to someone for more than 72 hours, a background check must be performed. A background check must be done when your friend returns it to you, too. Brilliant.
