Transmission Jack to Borrow

Postby 75DBE » Tue Dec 20, 2011 9:35 am

Anyone out there relatively local to Union and Dublin have a transmission jack that I could use to drop my transmission? I don't have extra hands until after Christmas and this may be a Christmas day project on my own!
Now with disk brakes, has turned into my sons daily driver while he is home on Christmas break.

I'm nowhere near the springs, but if someone is headed that way you're welcome to borrow mine.

I don't see a transmission jack listed on the tools thread in the members only section. I do have the motorcycle jack I mention in that thread, and I've heard of people making a wooden cradle to make it act like a transmission jack.

I work near Chapel Hills mall if you need it.

I too use my motorcycle jack to pull my tranny / transfer case.

Some people use motorcyle straps to secure it to the jack.

How tall is your rig?

I have this:

The issue is you have to have your rig a long ways up in the air to be able to roll the tranny out from under the rig. I ended up bear hugging mine and pulled it off the jack after I lowered it.

You are welcome to it. We leave town Friday early...
