1.5" x .25" wall DOM

Postby BroncoRaider » Mon Jun 07, 2021 2:48 pm

I'm looking for a couple of sticks of DOM to work on my steering linkage. I called a couple of places and they ranged from $110-$240 PER STICK.

Do any of you hoarders have 2 pieces of 1.5" OD, .25" wall DOM? I need them to be about 54" each. Let me know, thanks.

If you can get a 20' stick of DOM for $110, do it! I'm going to say that you are in for $100+ in order to get the two 54" pieces you need.

1.75x.120 wall was over $6/ft in January in Reno. That was before the crazy price increases happened.

I was quoted that price for a 54” piece, not a 20 ft stick.

Yikes! Ruff Stuff has the 54" pieces for $48 each but it sounds like Chris has you taken care of.

Funny thing about that. When I ordered my TREs from Ruffstuff, the guy told me not to order DOM from them. He said the shipping cost is a killer and it would be much cheaper to get the tube locally. After my quotes, I went on and priced it, it would’ve been $160 to order the two pieces and get them delivered. That was my default option if Chris hadn’t come up with a solution.

Shipping is always ridiculous. It's not consistent either. I've spent almost $200 across three vendors recently to get my suspension stuff shipped. Wild Horses was by far the best when it came down to it.

I've got a spare 8' which should cover you unless you're doing something unusual. My tie rod piece are about 33" and 43". I've used .250 wall if you're going to wheel it at all.
