Muzzle Loader

Postby Kinder » Tue Jan 11, 2022 9:40 am

Anyone have a muzzle loader they want to get rid of or maybe lend out this fall?

I had a great time last year during archery season, but won’t draw it back to back, so I’d like to try out muzzle loader season this year.

I have a Thompson Center Black Diamond in .50 Caliber I can loan you but don't want to get rid of it. I have bullets and patches but you will need gun powder as I only have pellets which you can't use in Colorado for black powder season.

Mike, yes I’d love to borrow it. I picked up a Hawkins style (hammer) and from what I see online the Black Diamond has an in-line action. I’m not sure which action I’d like, so the chance to try both sounds great. I’ve been able to get everything so far, including powder, except percussion caps. From a quick search it looks like the Thompson can use No 11 or 209 caps depending on how it’s set up.

Let me know when you have some time to meet up.

Let's get together when I'm in town and get it to you. I should be visiting in about a month or two.
