New Member '68 Half Cab

Postby Happydog9 » Mon Jan 19, 2015 7:55 am

Hey All,

A few weeks ago I picked up this 1968 Sport Half Cab in Canon City with 51,000 original miles, zero rust and lot's of cosmetic issues. Not entirely sure what the plan is for this one, but am super excited to get involved with the bronco community! Right now I'm thinking the plan is to increase its drivability (i.e. disc brakes, power steering) and safety without compromising its originality. Being brand new at this, I'd love to hear any and all input as to what should be done!

Hope to see you at the next meet!

Welcome, glad to have you and look forward to meeting you in person.

I think you are on the right track with your rig - considering it is unmolested thus far, keep it looking original in appearance and just improve safety and drivability.

It is sure a good looking 1/2 cab. Congrats on the find.

Smart looking half cab, love it! I think your plan is a solid one with imporveing the braking and safety first.. definitely keep it as it!

Really beautiful truck.

The only thing I would add to your plan is to drive it for a while so you have time to meet other enthusiasts and see their rigs to see how that may influence your build plan !

What a great way to document it! I know I've seen some of your tow test videos!

You came to the right place for advice!

All of what you are wanting to do can be done with stock bronco parts (of later years). I hope your plan includes to keep it as original as possible. Take a look at your steering joints
