Got some serious work done yesterday. Keith dropped by again, I'm beginning to think he is putting in time so he can get a peek at my parts stash, he keeps looking under tarps and giggling. We are really close to having all the loose panels done, the hood will be the death of me for sure.

Big O just left the garage yesterday to get sandblasted soon what's left of big o will be gone. Any suggestions on the name would be cool.

Not having gotten my hands dirty on this job it's hard to give it a name. I'd be waiting for the finished product, or even a trail ride or two to see it's true character.

Big O isn't rusty faded red orange anymore, Keith (plumbdoctor) and I put in some serious hours over this last week and got it painted, thanks Keith! Willem had a surprise birthday party yesterday (he turns 16 today) and it was unveiled there, as well as thanking all the bronco brothers who helped get it ready for driving; Phil, Matt, Greg, Drew, Justin, Tod, Mike, Jason, Chris, Jeff. Thanks a ton fellas. Willem and I have a few more items to do before he takes it for a spin, we'll get those knocked out this week while he's on spring break.

Keith (plumbdoctor) painted it and it turned out awesome. I delivered the panels separately and then brought him the tub, the panels and tub were stripped nearly to metal, the top was just sanded. On a normal rig I don't think you need to go to metal, but we had some welding repairs and surface rust to deal with so I'm glad we did.

We also made a conscious decision to NOT make the truck perfect, Willem wants to wheel this so when we reached a point that the panels were good enough we stopped prep work and set it aside for paint.

I fell asleep sometime after the party and slept until this morning, I'm still feeling sleep deprived. I couldn't tell you how long Willem stared lovingly at it last night, I'm sure it was well after dark.

Thanks Kirk. That sounds about my intention as well. Doesn't need to be perfect but I wanna be proud to drive it in front of chicks! Keith has reached out to me so I will probably do the same type of thing with mine. I look forward in seeing the finished product... once you have gotten your nap in, feel free to come over and prep mine next bangtard

Small steps over the last few days; finished up wiring in the 79 tilt column, replaced the stock ps pump with a sag, installed all the seals, ran axle vent lines, bolted in the seats. Next couple if days should see it finished, need to bolt in the roll bar and seat belts and do a serious shake down run to find any bugs.

What lower steering shaft & box are you using?

It's a stock lower shaft from '73 and up, I plan on doing a collapsing shaft upgrade soon so I have a bit more adjustability. The box is a 4 turn hybrid box (73 case w/ 76/77 internals).
