That's rtreads rig. Very nice, well built despite the Chevy drivetrain. If I remember correctly it's got the rear axle moved back at least 3 inches as well with extended wheelwells.

He said he is 1/2 Bronco guy, and 1/2 C10...

Sounds like HIS match made in heaven!

Haha, yeah my old Chevy roots and my new Bronco roots in one! Honestly, I'd rather have a Ford drivetrain. While the TH400 is indestructible, I am leaning more towards a manual (NP 435, T18/19, etc.) At that price point, I would not have much of a contingency fund, either. But for what's been done to it, I think its a good price point, and nicely built.

I know, beggars can't be choosers, but I will wait for the "right one." Plus, there's that minor detail of selling the MG and the 78 Bronco. I think I should have both of those on the market within the month. The MG will go quickly, I'm sure. The Bronco is going to take a bit longer perhaps because it needs the right buyer. I'm not going to give it away (but I'm a reasonable guy).

I really appreciate you guys keeping an eye out for me. There was also a brown-ish '69 just posted on CL for $6000 in the City Park area. Seems decent, but only 4 exterior pics.

I put up a thread over on CB about how crazy Bronco prices have become in the last two months.
Last weekend there were NO broncos less than $10,000 on CL.
One of them was $15,000 that would have been $6,000 asking and sold for way less in January.

You may need to wait until the next recession to see the prices come back down.

I agree. I saw that $15k one, WTF? That's similar condition shoebox Chevy money.

Just for comparisons sake, I bought my 78 for the sellers asking price because it was very fair for what is was. Now, I have a 95% rust free Bronco (my floors look like they were painted yesterday), a torque monster 400, a C6, NP 205, HP Dana 44,etc, the stuff people upgrade their rigs with, plus a now fully restored interior, all new suspension and bushings, weatherstripping, windshield, stereo, wheels and tires, etc. All of this with the purchase price of the Bronco is less than $9k.

Now as a perspective EB buyer (and average guy, with a reasonable budget for a toy - $12k), why would I essentially downgrade? I understand the "cool EB factor". Believe me I do not mean any offense by this, I'm just genuinely curious what other EB owner's opinions are about my first world problem I have going on.

Post Re: Greetings everyone, my 1978 Bronco
The general consensus in the Bronco world is that the boom will bust soon and the market will right itself. However, I disagree. Broncos are being popularized by shows like Fast 'N Loud, high end shops like ICON, and many celebrities (Jeremy Piven, Luke Bryan, Kiefer Sutherland, etc.). Because of this popularity boom, and the relative surge of trucks hitting the market, I think the market will hold for quite a few more years.

Unfortunately, when the market rights itself again, the Bronco will be entering a time when they are considered even more old and rare than they currently are and as a result the "fall" from peak prices will be very short.

Do I agree that prices are ridiculous right now? Absolutely. Would I love to take advantage of the market to pad my wallet? You bet. Owning and operating a Bronco shop is my dream job, but that simply is not in the cards. So, I'll just be content with enjoying the ones I have.

One thing we all have to consider is that we live in a prime market area for Broncos. First, Colorado is a fairly dry region that up until recently did not use extremely caustic materials during the winter to keep roads clear. Second, Colorado is an outdoor paradise. Many people bought these trucks to take advantage of this fact.

When you consider the surge in popularity, relative good condition of trucks found here AND how plentiful they are, it should shock no one that trucks here in Colorado seem to be commanding a higher than expected price.

Thanks for keeping an eye out for me. I actually just posted my 78 on CL, so we'll see what happens. I'm hoping for that buyer that prefers originality and values a Bronco with very solid platform

Post Re: Greetings everyone, my 1978 Bronco
So, I actually got a very reasonable offer (and most importantly, legitimate) on my Bronco earlier this week. I had to turn it down as I didn't realize how attached to it I was until someone offered the cash to drive it away. Damn it. Plus, out of nowhere, my 15 month old son points at it and says "Dadda" and likes to sit in the driver seat. So, that happened, now I CANT sell it.

I'm throwing a Detriot out back and, maybe, a truetrac in the front if budget permits. Either way, I'll be ready to hit some trails this summer. That said, I'll get my EB one day, but not now. I really do appreciate y'all keeping an eye out for me. I guess just save me two spots at the breakfasts to fit my fatso 78!
