Newbie here '74 5.0 Bronco

Postby dodgepaul » Tue Mar 24, 2015 6:44 pm

Thanks for the add, I lived in Colorado for 20 years, love to come back to explore the back country in our rigs. Where are most folks from on the page? Do I see meets in the Colorado Springs area? I'll keep an eye on the trail dates, we make at least one trip out every summer for wheeling. Bought my rig in '95 or so from a friend. Put a '89 mustang mass air 5.0 in it in the late 90's. c-4 auto with low geared dana 20 drive big bearing 4.10 dana 44/9in with lockers front and rear. Yukon axles up front and strange in the rear. f150 discs up front along with PST hydro assist steering. cage long arms with lift sittin on 35's. Made lots of friends through the years with my Bronco, never ceases to amaze me how many friends that truck has made me wherever I go exploring. Kinda strange out here in the midwest to pay to get into an off/road park. We get spoiled being able to run up the hill to have our fun out there.

Welcome.

Thanks for posting up the pics.

There are monthly breakfasts on the 3rd Saturday of each month. They vary location from the Springs to north of Denver. Hopefully, lots of trail runs this summer. Nothing is planned yet, but everything gets organized in the "Staging Area" of the forum, so keep checking. Most the stuff happens close to the front range, since a majority of the members are in Denver & C.S. I'm from Gunnison. Hopefully we can get some runs organized further west this year. I'm planning on getting out a lot this summer, after the truck is back together.

I was drooling over that list last night, too.

x eleventy billion!

I too was shocked at having to pay to play in TX when we were there for three years. You learned quickly which places were worth the trip and which ones weren't.

No they all currently reside here at home on the farm, and some unfinished projects that aren't listed, I'm a fool for the Mopar brand but got my Bronco years ago from a friend in Parker around 1995.
I lived in Colorado for about 20 years before leaving to take over my families farm in Iowa. I get to Colorado at least once a year to explore the high country. I have found someparks here in the midwest to play in, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma has great wheelin and a really well run Bronco club. EOCBR in Hot Springs is quite a Bronco rally in Sept, last I was there a few years ago there 127 early Broncos. But since I got my introduction to wheeling in the Colorado High Country and Moab I get withdrawls monthly!
We plan on being in Colorado in late July for a week, I'll keep my eyes on the event page for things scheduled.

The charger pic is just out of the paint shop last fall. It's getting closer to being on the street every day. The wing cars are both low mile original motor 440 cars. I started collecting them 15-20 years ago, hence the name Dodgepaul :-)

If all the Mopars are still parked like that in front of your barn, can I fly to Iowa and just park them back in the barn? Just park them....maybe while sliding sideways, but just park them none the less. :burnout:

it's actually just starting to thaw from winter out here, crappy wet springtime. So they are all put up from Winter, but it's getting warmer and drier every day, so we may need help getting them out before to long for this years barn shot and cruise season. That pic was only 3 years ago and there are quite a few additions since then :-)

Thanks!! Sometimes here in the flatlands you have to work a lil harder to find anything to crawl over at all. So when something presents itself take advantage of it :-)

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on the Staging area. I posted some dates we'll be there as of yet. We'll be most likely be traveling thru Gunnison as we did last year on our way to Silverton. Last year I took our local club up to the Alpine Tunnel to give them a introduction to the Colorado high country. Fun was had by all. Goodluck on your Bronco! mine is ready this early in the season for the first time in a long time.
