2x 1996 V8 Exploders, both had the desirable GT40 heads still on them, one was complete.

1977 full width D44, high pinion w/ weld on wedges, someone botched a brake removal but the rest was there.

2x trucks w/ NP205s in them, hey Eck!

Several other V8 exploders is various condition.

I was about to ask how you botch a brake removal, but then remembered that some people could break an anvil in a sand pile.

I am thinking the NP205 is in my future. And I need a computer out of a 96 Explorer as a backup-- but I think if I went on a yard run on Valentines Day, I may be all alone with my Bronco for a while...

Kirk-- what is your schedule like 2/24 through that week? Wanna go pull a transfer case with me?!

Can I ask why a 205? Other than being strong as hell they suck ass. only a 1.95:1 low range.

I don't know a lot yet about the best option but am planning on putting in a ZF5 and need an affordable transfer case solution. Was leaning towards the 205 for the strength.

205 is only good with a 203 in front of it. The dana 20 is plenty strong for normal bronco use and about half the weight. I'd rather have the lower gearing.

I know I read that correctly.

I'm sure fabbing up a crossmember will prove much more economical than shelling out for the ZF-D20 adapter. Initially. Probably much cheaper (time and money wise) to wait until you can afford to do it once. If you don't want to, I'm sure you'll have just as much with the 205 until you move to something else.

Im also wondering why no one has bothered to market a lower gear set for the 205 if it's so bullet proof.

There is ZERO room. There was a company that did make some 3.0 gears. And to get those in the case it required lots and lots of grinding. Leaving little meat to keep the strength.

Here ya go. It includes a new case. So for the price of this you might as well just go atlas.

If it was me I'd just get a new rear output and d20 adaptor. Thats $800-$1000 total. And it fits.

Thanks- I haven't done a lot of research yet but that's a definite option. I mean, I just got my rig drivable today so I don't plan to do this anytime too soon.

Kirk, did you see the 1970 F250 Camper Special with the camper on it ?

It was off to the right before you entered.

Also, if those are the same gears I saw, they specifically do not fit the Ford NP205 only passenger drop cases.

You are correct. The Lomax gears are for passenger drop 205's only.
