I only wish this were here in Colorado...but that would mean that the old man was 6' under so I can wait. Built this in High School...best car ever and with a tuned 302, shes a rocket!

I probably shouldn't post this, I can hear Dan dreaming up something really crude to say, of course Lobo won't be far behind with a witty remark. This is my 68 GT from back in the day, it didn't survive the wife driving it as her DD back in Hawaii, not her fault by the way. I believe I'm 15 in this pic, the paint, interior and most of the drivetrain was original, the engine was just slightly "warmed over," she'd break the rear end loose going into 4th gear at 90 mph.

So the question is do you have the pic to top that one Dan? How about a sweet 16 photo of you with an old hot rod, or maybe a motorcycle. I've got a few more where that one came from.

Kirk - I think you need to change your avatar to the Joe Dirt pic! lmao

I only wish I was that cool at 16 - all of my shirts had sleeves lmao

There are a lot of guys with Broncos and Mustangs - they go together line Crocket and Tubbs - that is my last 80's reference.

Pony Corral - that is one sweet Mustang!

Here's mine...or rather the project I am working on with my dad. A 66 Fastback. It's been a 6 year project. It got bumped to the far rear burner when my first son was born. It came from Florida and was a complete basket case, rusted out floor pans, spring towers, every underside panel had some form of rust on it. It's now sporting some new floor pans & rear leaf spring mounts, but thats about it. We plan on putting a 302 bored and stroked with a Paxton super charger in it. Gonna make it a "sleeper" of sorts. It is too far gone to go back original so I have some serious upgrade plans for it. I am going to use the old rear end out of my EB in it (3.50 gears w/a small bearing 9"...better than the 8.8 that was in it anyway).

Should have seen this thread earlier.... Quite funny?

I too had the mustang (66') that I built in high school. Although...I did not look like Kirk or have that quality of a car:)!

With that being said, I have been looking to buy a builder (66-68) for my father and I. Mainly want something I can make a nice little driver for him (he's not getting any younger...nor am I). Not great with body work, but the rest I can do. We still have a bunch of parts, so now is the time.

Do you guys have any leads or good suggestions on places to look (something like CCB) in the area?

Awesome thread and keep those "youngster" pics coming!

With that being said....Dazed and Confused was on X-mas eve...yup...the wife and watched!

Uncle Sugar was kind enough to zap me in the eyeballs with a laser, alleviating me of the need for such devices any more.

My fox was nothing special. A salvage title car, it was purchased by a body guy for Ford. He rebuilt the car after it had been totaled in a winter storm. The motor was a Ford crate and went to my buddy in high school with a warranty attached. He worked at Jiffy Lube and just prior to the warranty running out, used the vacuum tube to remove some oil from the pan, thwarting Ford's oil consumption test. A week later he had a new motor installed.

I picked it up with around 50k on the odometer and drove it for two years before I decided it would be inappropriate for Alaska and sold it. Very foolish of me. It was paid off and I didn't even use the funds from the sale towards my new '97 F150. Fun car. Good times.
