Baja or bust

Been posting a lot on the CB site as there are a lot of guys in the group from all over but we made it to La Paz tonight which was the most south we were going. We will start making our way back north tomorrow. It’s been an adventure for sure but as Scott has said, CO rigs are representing well. I had to replace a uJoint and rear pinion seal. Looks like my driveshaft is not perfectly straight from the transfer case to the rear axle so it keeps wearing that uJoint our closest to the pinion. Will need to adjust that when I get back.

We’ve seen some missions, tore up some dirt roads, slept in a tent right on a cliff overlooking the sea of Cortez, stayed in a quaint Mexican fishing town, fixed a lot of stuff on other Broncos, a small group of us went fishing and caught grouper, Snapper, and trigger fish that was prepared at a local restaurant in Loreto for some family style dinner, handed out matchbox cars and coloring books to the kids as we go through town, found an Oasis in the middle of the desert called San Ignacio where we stayed one night, and we are all Baja tested and will be cleaning dirt out of crevices on our Broncos and ourselves for months. It’s been an aggressive plan but a once in a lifetime opportunity that I’m so glad I’m part of. Now let’s just hope we’ve worked out all kinks and the 1000 miles back to the States goes smoothly!

Baja Sur Bronco club met us as we were coming into town and escorted us all along the beach drag to our hotel.

Made the drive back to Loreto from LaPaz, via the road less travelled. Went thru the gem of Baja, San Javier, with their 300 yr old mission. A really good day in Baja with the Colorado Broncos continuing to go hard! ImageImage

Down for the night and headed to San Felipe tomorrow. Some jackass sprayed Ecks Bronco with gravel, so he’s got memories of Baja tattooed on his ride. ImageImageImage

Thanks for sharing! I need to take the time to dig into the thread on CB.com! So much cool!

Eck - I had to look real hard at your last pic with the red bus in the background. Same bus I assume, just a pano?

Haha. Yah- hadn’t even noticed that. Pano or slow shutter speed vs. fast bus?

I hope this becomes an annual event or at least a five year event, I'd really like the opportunity to run Baja.

Mike- you shouldn’t wait for another big group if you want to experience Baja. Pick a few (3 or 4) others that you know (and like), and sit down with them and plan your own trip exactly the way you want it. Way easier to travel small with like minded guys (who you trust), than a large group of people, many who you’ve never met before. Easier to keep on your own agenda that way rather than trying to please everyone. Another option if you just want to experience Baja would be to hit up Chris. I think he’s planning his own sort of adventure! [emoji12]. That’s my advice, and it’s free - so it’s worth what you paid for it! [emoji23][emoji23]
