You betcha! Floor is sealed. I am going to let it sit overnight and start to get things moved in tomorrow.
What did you use on the floor?

It’s a penetrating sealer, cheapest place I could find it was online. Looked at other options but this seem to be the best for what I wanted, within my timeframe and budget. I read a bunch of threads on garage journal since that’s where most of those flooring dudes hang out.

Good, thx . That garage site is a serious "rabbit hole". A guy can spend hours on there!!

Lots of research. In the end ordered through Rocky Mountain garages, they installed. It’s not cheap and the cheap roll up garage doors you see online are cheap for a reason.

Garage build

Postby landshark » Tue Jun 12, 2018 7:08 am

Passed final in April, got the outside painted and gutters put on. Hung the heater now that it’s summer lol, will install the vent and hook it up in the fall. Also finished insulating the remaining two walls and put up OSB. Also pulled speaker wire to all four corners and network cable to three of the corners for IP security cameras. The roof insulation and OSB will be a huge pain so will probably hire that out right before winter.

Nice work. I like the OSB walls. Must be a huge contrast. Still can't believe all you did in the old single car garage.

Finally unpacked everything and at least have some of it separated. Will have to organize the shelves a bit more but have the stuff for sale removed from that which stays.

Next is a tool box and start tearing down the 72 [emoji3]

Chris,

I think you ran an internet connection to your garage. I'm getting ready for earthwork now. They will trench from the house to the garage for electric service and gas. What is the best way to run an ethernet/internet connection to the garage? Wire type? Conduit or direct bury? Separation distance from electric service wire?

Thanks.

I ran 2” schedule 40 from the house to the garage in the same trench as the electric but about 12” shallower. The electric is at about 3’. I would definitely separate it by at least a foot of earth. I haven’t actually pulled the wires yet but shouldn’t be an issue, I plan on having Comcast run my coaxial in the same pipe. I also bought direct bury cat5e just in case water gets intro the pipe. You can buy direct bury cat 5e pretty cheap off amazon. I bought 500’ on a spool. I just read the reviews for the best one at the right price. It’s pretty stiff wire as I ran a bunch to the corners of the garage before I insulated the walls but it worked just fine.

You could just drop direct bury in a trench, allot cheaper and easier, just keep the distance from the electric and I would drop two runs into the trench.
