I like the stretch in the second sketch. I would love a 4 door Bronco for sure.

I might need to decide on the engine till after you finish your 2.8. [emoji16]

And let's be honest, if I wasn't limited by budget, I'd be able to drive mine right now and that would be huge!

Bronco skinned buggy with an electric drivetrain. 100% of torque at zero rpm, butter smooth delivery, and the ability to locate powertrain weight down low and with whatever front/ rear bias I wanted. It'd be on 9" based portal axles, too.

I’d love a 4 door. With the current Raptor drivetrain. And no holes in the floor pans.

I really like the center sketch. Maybe with longer or suicide instead of extra doors. And, as a second bronco.

I like Justin’s idea of electric, I’d take it one step further and may do so one day, a diesel electric hybrid!

I would love to have a 4-door but with a truck bed in the back, i.e. gladiator style.

That's kinda where I'm at. I love the Bronco, but miss having a bed and don't want to give up seating for 4.

Day dreaming

Postby Kinder » Fri Mar 01, 2019 11:00 am

I know it’s lacking refinement, a quick image edit to BSD with the hard top on shows how I’d like to accommodate the rear window frames. This gets close to a 4 door with bed space (albeit the smallest bed in the truck world besides a H2 SUT).

Interesting. I was dropping back into this thread to show off my mad PhotoChop skillz. Maybe we are converging on an idea?

It looks more balanced with a long bed

Old pic, shows signs of heavy editing, doesn’t matter as long as it inspires.

IF I could make it work to DD a bronco, I would love to do a 4-door with a lot of modern refinements. I would keep it a wagon style. Suicide doors would be great, with the rears being a little smaller than the front. I would love to put the 2.8R diesel in it with a nice auto, or some other more refined modern diesel. Something my wife wouldn't be afraid to drive. Kirk pretty well nailed it on his second rendition of HIS bronco. I like the slope of the rear hatch as opposed to a nearly vertical back like the KE bronco.

For a trail truck, I'd love to extend the body 8" or so and push the axles out closer to the corners. I think I'd keep it a 2-door tho, but I do like the idea of a small covered and secure storage area in front of a bulkhead leaving a small bed behind that. Perhaps a 3-seater? I'd still want a removable top.

Day dreaming for sure!

I've thought about doing a stretch, but keeping it a 2-door to maintain simplicity of construction.

I also like the look of the J8 or the wanna-be J8s
