What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)

Got the passenger side door working again.... Purchased a new impact driver to loosen the screws and the top one still wont budge, actually bent the tip in the driver. But was able to get enough out of the lower to adjust it so the strike works well now.

Now all we need is the arm rests and the doors will be fully functional.... Hope the boys learned a lesson from this - leave the doors on, they are a PITA to get right once out of alignment.

Finally figured out what my issue with only running a few minutes then dying. The fuel hose from the main tank was bent and kinked. I can say that I got real good at taking the carb off.

I did finish the seat install over the weekend and put on some cheap seat covers today. Me and my daughter took it on a short drive. I need to do some seat belts now.

Might have been my son as he has been dying to drive it. I was ready to burn it to the ground as it was real pissing me off. Now I need to get a headliner made up and installed so I can drive it. I also need to get door parts as mine was missing both arm rests and interior handles. I did also order a petronix and get some new wires. JP

I did a little work to mine. Installed a new CB as my old one was toast. Net up is to check and make sure everything is tight for a nice trouble free trip saturday.

Got the roll bar/light bar re-installed after painting, also I put the seatbelt in for the drivers side. My son asked me (after claiming he was to ill to help me) that he wanted to drive it to work, I told him he must have a fever. I do plan on driving it to work this weekend if the weather holds. JP

Reamed out my new knuckles as part of my disc swap. Learned 2 things: Zoso's reamer doesn't fit in my 3/8ths drill and that it's pretty easy to do the reaming by hand. I'm really happy with the results and it only took about an hour to totally reinstall my tie rod and drag link.

here's something new I tried today...I had a couple sets of OEM front seat belts that had apparently been laying around in a garage for some time...lots of dirt and grease. I took them to work with me and before I left sprayed one side at a time with engine decreaser...let it sit for a bit, then pressure washed. Flip repeat rinse...worked pretty good. As long as they dont wreak of engine degreaser they will be usable as they cleaned up amazingly well. If they stink I'll keep pressure washing until they dont.

Did a little more today. Checked up my steering box and trac bar. All was still tight. Was a scary ride when they came loose on jenny creek last year. Also rewired in my pressure switch for my OBA. Now I just need to replace the hose off the compressor to the filter. Then I should be ready for this weekend.

Did an alignment. Hopefully my brake hoses will show up from BC Broncos tomorrow (ordered them last Friday morning ) and I can have my truck on the road for the run Saturday. It won't really be the same driving the minivan. Nothing like testing new mods with a 150+ mile drive.

I don't need another vehicle but for the price and condition I couldn't pass it up.
Im glad dan was so quick to the punch to pick it up. I plan to try to fire it up in the next few weeks.

Last night I got the lower door seals in temporarily so I could drive it today.

I did drive it to work today, and it was great, although a little chilly. JP

What are your seats out of? I was thinking about getting some out of a salvaged Escape, they seem to be a nice fit and comfy.

I loaded up the Bronco to get ready for my move back to Denver.

rcv axle update .. so far i notice that when turning tight there is no jumping / hopping , its smooth turning , the dust boots were a little tuff to push into place ,and also found that i need to grind down lower ball joint nut a little more on pass side .

Got the disc conversion finished up. Still lots of small bubbles when I'm bleeding, but the rear tires lock long before I max out the pedal travel. Massively more powerful brakes. It'll need a proportioning valve and I'm curious to see how much more powerful the brakes get with a greater percentage of the work being done by the fronts. I'll probably replace all the brake parts from the master cylinder down to the front axle next to try to get rid of the bubbles and decrease the chance of failure by 40 year old parts.

My bronco is ready for the next trip. Got my newly lengthened driveshaft installed and leaf spring wedges to correct pinion angle. Installed the shock again, although I think both are shot. They were both coated in dirt since I think they are leaking. That's the trouble with mounting them inboard, you place more of a side load on them as the suspension compresses and they are not designed for that.

Yesterday we removed the family cage...will be trailering it up to RoadRunner tomorrow for powdercoating. I also re-installed the entire interior (carpet, hold downs, seats, tunnel covers, seat belts etc.). Cage should drop right in on top of the carpet nicely.
