‘Sorry it has taken so long to respond; we’ve been kinda busy. The Bronco is basically parked w/o insurance because it is so sick.

It is a 1968 M101-A1 Army trailer. I bought it as scrap at a government auction without sides, canvas, tongue or wheels. It was rated as 3/4 ton which is an off-road rating. That means it is good for 1.5 tons on good roads. If you release the front pins on the tongue, block the wheels and back up, it will dump (see picture).

I fabricated a tongue with a hookup that will flip around; one way it accepts a 2” ball, the other way it accepts a 3” pintle. I cut off the original spindles that would only accept an obscure 5 bolt pattern that the army used on its M37 3/4 ton truck and welded on front spindles from a ’74 Bronco. That way it takes the same wheels as the bronco, although it probably reduced its load capacity to 1 ton. The next thing I need to do is put a jack on the front.

I traded some other Army junk for the sides and top and there it is. I’ve had up to 3,000 lb. in it and it tows great, although that is a bit heavy for a trailer without brakes. If someone is really interested, it might be for sale. I have my eye on some other Army equipment coming up for auction and I need the $$.

Havent done much. First time since 2001 that I didnt take it elk hunting. I must say it was pretty nice to drive the truck. But before I left I did look into why it wanders so bad down the road. Gonna build a track bar riser and ditch the drop bracket. It is flexing like crazy.

I wish. We came home to beat the snow. We could have had a few if we had bull tags. But Pops and myself only had cow tags. On saturday we had 3 bulls walk out in front of us. Then sunday pops had a single bull walk out in front of him and I had people in front of me. There were a few cows and they shot them in front of me. Monday pops had a few more go by him but it was about 5 minutes too early and on private property. Then tuesday was not a single thing but a lot of cold wind.

First season, I spent 5 days in the woods, taking my gun on long walks, too. No luck. I saw 30-40 opening day at sunset, they were 2 very, very long miles away. Didn't see anymore after that.

Always next year.

I'm getting ready to do something similar. My entire garage is also on one 15 amp and when the compressor kicks on, it trips the breaker. I think I'm going to add a 20 amp breaker and run a line to a new outlet for the compressor and the heater.

Just set a 100 amp sub panel in the garage. That's what I did in boogers garage. Every outlet is its own 20 amp circuit. Plus tons of lights and the heater.

Did a similar job on mine a couple years ago. Have (3) 8ft and (3) 4ft fluorescent and ran two new 4-gang 20 amp circuits between the doors on the garage. Been really nice. Everything in mine was also 15amp. weak!

I thought a about a sub panel...but since I still have a few open slots in the main one, I think I'll go the new circuit route instead. It's obvious that newer homes are not built with any hobbyists or mechanics in mind! 1 15Amp....bla!

I'm not done, but since everyone is bragging about the electric in their garage, I've set new 200 amp service to my entire home & ran a new 100a breaker panel in my garage. I haven't run the new circuits yet, just attached the old wiring to the new panel (don't tell the electric inspector). I do have an open electric permit to do my whole home, so the garage is going to have to be finished correctly. But I'll have plenty of room to grow after the inspectors leave. It will be nice. My whole home & garage were run off a 100 amp service, total. But since the home was built in 1882, and was still running some knob & tube when I started the upgrade, 100 amp was probably a lot when it was installed.

Not to mention how small garages are! a compact car fits great, nothing else does... expansion may be on the horizon.....

True-dat! You are hard pressed to find a garage that will house two vehicles comfortably! I lucked out somehow and got a garage with 14ft ceilings, which I have used for storage. But even being a 3-car garage, it's a very tight fit for three vehicles. My truck nearly has to touch the front wall to get the door to close. My previous garage, not a chance!

Expansion for you? you must be the only house on that street that doesnt have a huge garage on the side or in the back. You think your garage is small try mine. The cobra has 6in in the front and to the rear with my one shelf. needs to be atleast ten foot deeper about 30foot wider and 10ft doors.

The 2 car at my old place had more room. My kegerater barely fits! I'm thinking it would be nice another 10-12 ft wider and about 30 ft deep!

Did a whole bunch of brake work on my F250 and when I was going through a tool box of parts I found an old Window crank handle from my 64 F100. I thought to myself "I sure could use my vise grips today" so I took the vise grips off of HULKs drivers door window crank and installed the handle. I really did do this today too. thumbs up

Oh I did think about Calling Greg to see if he had a hammer and a block of wood I could borrow to get my vice grips loose. jawdrop

I followed my inner lemming and replaced a shop light that had burned out. I also finally got around to installing a 250w metal halide that I'm not using on my aquarium out in the shop. I'm hoping that in addition to providing blinding amounts of light that it will also keep me warm. brain fart

Used all that new light to take out my heater box and disassemble both it and my spare to take the best parts for a newly sealed, rebuilt heater. Picked up the parts yesterday for the upgraded motor and squirrel cage.

i will tell you what.. i will take your "tight" 3 car garage any day over my 80+ year old single car garage!

Talk about creative storage and using the space wisely.. iam trying to figure out how to install shelves to store my spare parts and tools on while being able to open/get out of a vehicle. Most of my accessories for my fullsize bronco have to hang from the walls or ceilings as i have no storage above the rafters (flat roof). If only I didn't have a bathroom and kitchen remodel on the horizon i could do the garage.. oh well at least its easy to heat ;)
