What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)

Put a new block heater plug on. My BCB headers finished off what was left of my old plug.

Plugged in & set my outlet timer to have my engine warm in the morning.

Bring on winter!

It was Sunday, but aired up to street pressure and used my OBA to blow out my lawn sprinklers!

Chad - at one point I was trying to come up with a device that used a timer as well as a thermostat for your block heater.

I just have mine fire up about 2 hours before I go to work. Starts every time, even at -20 or -30. The only days I have to drive my Chrysler is when ice freezes my doors or locks shut.

My Bronco apparently moved from the street to my driveway despite my being in Tampa, Florida. I guess a water main broke in the street under or near my truck. A CS Utilities worker and FJ40 owner was kind enough to pull it in the drive for Frau Castle.

Today, its not what I did, its what I got:

1. Brand new Motorcraft EFI dizzy w/cast iron gear
2. one of these: http://matcotools.com/catalog/product/6 ... D-DIE-SET/
3. Tracking number of shipment containing rebuilt A9L computer

Hard to beat that.

Just finished up my heater box re-seal with blower motor and squirrel cage upgrade. I haven't run it yet with warm coolant, but holy crap that fan moves a ton of air.

C***y fan? I've got one on the way. I'm looking forward to defrost that works.

Yup. If you don't have one on the way already, do the squirrel cage as well. It's a decent chunk bigger. Mine was blowing dust around the interior that may not have moved in the last 40 years.

Opened the door and searched the console for the tire pressure gage then thought about what else I'm gonna do to 351W if I replace the heads. Gotta pull it out anyway since I think I need to replace the flexplate because the thing makes a funny sound when starting. Also noticed it starting to smoke when first started indicating valve seals and / or guides. It doesn't have but 15 or 20k on it since it was rebuilt and installed back in '96. Would like to go roller cam and efi as well. C4 needs Viperized as well. Then it needs a cage, some rust cleanup and repaint and...........

Booger, keep me in mind if you do something radical. I decided to sell my Explorer 302 block, because if I'm going to swap motors I want a 351. So....... I'd be in the long term market for some builders parts if you end up with any. Just saying.

Sweet, I shouldn't even be thinking about 351s, and just concentrate on getting my old 302 EFI'd.

Friday afternoon, pulled the bent fitting off my steering ram, ran to the parker store for new fittings. Tonight - install fittings and bleed system. Hope it's that easy!

Yesterday I put in my new C***y heater fan. It blows, big time.

My heater box is in bad shape. Took longer to patch & rebuild the mounting surface than anything else. The lower mounting flange, from about 4 o'clock to 8 o'clock stayed on the old motor. Pulled it off, tacked it together w/super glue, then used bumper repair tape & SMC fiberglass repair adhesive to stick it all back together. I think it will hold for a while.

Any extra heater boxes out there? I put a "wanted" ad up.

Spent 8 days in Ohio City hunting the mythical creature called "ELK". drove the Crap out of the Bronco and it did wonderful. It was snowy and muddy. I chained up the front end and it tried to climb a couple of trees but did find on trail that was akin to a bobsled course that kicked my a++. I had to break out the come along (no winch yet) and get out of the water bar hole I was in. I drove it everyday and boy did the heater upgrade come in handy. I will post some pictures of the bronco on the hills and covered in mud (man I need to get the fender flares on). JP boardin

We call them "Ghost Elk". They seem to appear & disappear into thin air! Sorry you didn't have any luck, me neither. Oh well there is always next year. My friend found a 7x8 set of elk antlers this week. They are all palmated & absolutely HUGE! The bases are 12" circumference. I have a pic on my cell phone, but don't know how to post it.

We did find a nice 6X6 skull who looks like he was shot earlier in the season. I did see lots of elk this year but missed once on a running shot and had a misfire. All in all we had a great time. JP

Being in Gunnison for 16 years, I'm about 15 years behind on technology. I can't even figure how to email it to me. Honestly, I can barely text.

Today was a great day. Mike (76fordbronco) drove all the way to Gunnison to deliver me a bunch of goodies, and take a bunch of my goodies back to folks in Denver. It was fun digging through all the new stuff I got, and I started cleaning up my new rims, getting them ready to paint.

Its great that some of my unused stuff has found new homes in the Bronco family.

Thanks to Zilla, Briannut, rtreads, Rox, Plumbdoctor, 68bronc, Kinder, JTSbronc, & cpldavis37. Thanks for the stuff & thanks for taking & using my stuff.

But most especially, a big thanks to Mike for going above & beyond. This is one of the nicest things anyone's done for me. Really, above & beyond!
