So Zilla - you going to be ready for the snow bash on the 18th?? can't think of a better way to test the mods!

Helped Drew by connecting the exhaust, holding the other end of the bolt while he tightens the nut to finish the drivers side slider. Then folks, we drove it!

We wanted to turn it around to build the passenger side slider anyway...
Funny how that took a trip around the neighborhood and close to an 1/8 tank of gas....

So if anyone noticed a silverish bronco, on 33s with no top snow bashing in highlands ranch, son driving , know those crap eating grins were for real! Free bird is back!

Still need another slider, throttle kick-down and some other adjustments like idle rpms seem very high, but still. First time she has moved under her own power in a long time!

Awesome news !

Is it the tranny kick down rod you need ?

If so, I believe I have one you can have. Let me look around.

New altrenator and regulator. Found where one of my many missing wire harness connectors and plugged it in. New spedo cable and put new stereo in with new speaker. I wish I could figure out how to change my avitar and add photos but it always says my file sizes are too big. Now it's time for many

This doesn't have anything to do with my Bronco or Fords even, but I made a handshake deal to buy this:

Image

It is a 39 Plymouth, all the chrome, glass, etc is good. It ran 10 or 15 years ago, and has been parked in GJ ever since. I'm going to go get it after the ski season is over. It is my friends car, but he has a Leland, a model T, and a 66 halfcab Bronco,(his FIL owned the Ford dealership in Center), he finally realized he won't be doing anything with it, so he wants me to have it. I've wanted to build a hot rod my whole life & now with 4 years of bodyshop experience, I know I can build something worthwhile. My plan was for a shoebox Ford, but this car is too cool and too complete (and too good a price) to pass up. I have no idea what path the rebuild will take, restorod or fullblown hot rod, but I'm stoked.

I have a whole bunch of new stuff to learn about. Any links or info would be appreciated.

Did a complete rebuild on the carburetor, lubed the vacuum advance where it encircles the dizzy shaft, replaced the muffler and added enough exhaust pipe to fill in where the Cat was sitting. Now it runs like it should without hesitation and a decent amount of power. Just need to dial in the idle to be perfect.

Got some more work done on the sheet metal replacement. Most of the spot welds are drilled out on the floorboard and I got the cheesy replacement panel cut out on the outer rocker. Now contemplating options...will post up pics in the build thread.

Well, since we did not get to go snow bashing today, instead we spent the whole day in the garage.
so far we have driven it 30 miles.
Figured out why the heater never got warm.... Low antifreze.
set the timing
Adjusted the carb... Running much better
New headlamps.... Still not working, think we need a new switch
Made an awesome new camouflage headliner and insulated the top
Put the top on
Currently we are making the old worn out sloppy hinges into removable so Drew can easily remove the doors in warm weather.
tomorrow we will start on the throttle kick down and put in the new windshield.

Anyone have an extra headlight switch lying around they would not mind getting rid of cheap?

Greg - save yourself some headache in the future and put a relay in the system. I statyed a thread and Viper posted up a sweet diagram. I have not done it, but need to.

I've been getting the materials together to start my "can't leave well enough alone" swap project, thought I'd do some transmission work today. My brother wanted to do this instead - Apishipa SWA. I'm glad he was bored. Don't worry - all marked trails or roads.

I swapped intakes today. I changed my 351 truck lower/ Mustang H.O. upper with BCBroncos adapter to a marine GT40 intake. I also upgraded from stock Mustang Throttle body and MAF to a 70mm BBK, 76mm MAF and 30lb injectors.

Just curious, how much taller or shorter is the GT40 intake combo than the truck/bcb adapter/Mustang intake?

So the GT40 set is taller? I just want to make sure I'm reading right. That is surprising, I ASSumed that the combo with the adapter would have been taller.

Thanks for the info.
