I was thinking something similar. Work has been so busy since September that I'm just happy that mine drives. I wish i had the funds to rebuild the 351 and install it before spring but i doubt that will happen.

What projects do others have going?

I’ve got mine somewhat still torn down. I’m putting in Hydroboost and changing my power steering pump situation. I’ve got a couple days off work early next week and hoping for a strong push to get it done. Some of these nice 60 degree days has gotten me itching to drive it.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. You had me at “if you need”! I’d love another set of eyes and hands. I’ve basically got all the parts laid out and now it’s time for install. I’m planning to work Monday and Tuesday so let me know when you want to get out of the house.

I need to rebuild my hydroboost unit and install it t some point. I’ve been working on the garage itself recently. Finally got insulation and drywall. My back yard looked very “Sanford & Son” for a few days. It should be much nicer to hang out in going forward.

The garage door came insulated. I'm not sure the R value, but I've been out there reorganizing and it's significantly warmer than outside.

I’ve never seen Tim’s garage so clean. Have mine torn apart trying to get all the rust situated. Windshield frame off and getting ready to do rear quarters. Not fun!

The only time it's ever been this clean is before we moved in.

I wish my garage looked like that right now! I have plans for projects on the Bronco, we will see how far I get, got other things that need to happen first. Currently have my Mercury truck sitting in the space I need to work and need to figure my plan out. Wanted to tear everything down on the Bronco and finally do body work and paint it one color. Also planning to either rebuild the current 302 or possibly the 351W I have sitting, swap fuel tanks, and ditch the Fitech.

Rear quarters aren't too bad if it's just the lowers. Happy to chime in with advise or help as needed on those. I haven't done a windshield frame but I'm sure it's like everything else: measure, measure, measure, check fit, measure, then weld. [emoji16]

I've been swamped by a new job lately so I haven't had much time for the Bronco.

I'm disappointed in my rear spring set up and performance. I did not do enough research before taking on the project. I've been looking at a few possible fixes:
#1. 4 link- but there are so many variables, so much to learn and it would involve another huge project, which is something I'm not interested in. Seems like you can expect to re-do any 4 link a few times to get it right, and the 'out of the box' systems just won't fit in my truck.
#2. custom rear springs for where my spring hangers are set
#3. moving/adjusting my hangers and shackles to maximize the springs I have. I just watched a good youtube video that I wish I had seen 5 years ago.

This week/weekend, I'm hoping to do some experimenting with shackle length to see how much travel I can get out of my current springs and then decide if I should move things around or just spend the money and order custom springs.

I’m fixing air leak in rear ARB at the moment.

Probably going to replace the heater core over the holiday break as well.

Not much to post as well. The Bronco is put away for the winter and continues to wait for much needed upgrades. However I’m working hard to finish another project that I have, Which will provide a good amount of cash to spend on the Bronco. I’m restoring my 1” scale Live Steam Locomotive. I’m getting very close to finishing and once finished. I will be selling the locomotive and leaving that hobby, to focus on the Bronco hobby. So upgrades to the 76 are coming soon.

Happy Holidays to all,

Fred

I am servicing the racer and changing a few things up along the way.

I am having a new engine being built for the red bronco and will be swapping in an entirely new drive train and working on a suspension upgrade path. Have a feeling it will swap spaces with the racer and get pulled apart soon :)

Tim, garage looks great! I need to insulate my roof but too lazy.

I've got this week off, so hoping to get some Bronco projects done. Currently recovering a rear seat (Rox's old one, I think), and will have that in shortly. Looking to do sliders and extend the cage. Ordered a rear hoop locally instead of trying to bend my own since my cage is 2" and I don't have a die for that size. Sounds like it should be ready Thursday. I'll bend up the cross bars and reinforcement out of 1.75, but liked the little bit of extra protection the 2" will give.

Big thanks to Phyler coming by to help yesterday. He convinced me to clock the hydroboost 90* so we had to make a bracket. When you do thinks right- it adds time to a project timeline! Spent time today also doing things right and made some new brake lines, tried to clean up routing of things in the engine bay, etc. I think I’m pretty close to bleeding the system and firing it up.

EFIGuy knows the pain of letting me create more work. [emoji16][emoji1787]. I convinced him to rebuild most of the floors and firewall sheet metal on his. You got off light with just a bracket. [emoji1787]

Those spark plugs wire holders really look good and everything looks super clean. You're going to love it.

Hellow anybody out there?

Postby Kinder » Wed Jan 06, 2021 9:52 am

Just driving both of them everyday. BSD has some motor upgrades sitting in cardboard boxes and of course the D60 front axle is gathering dust. Gunni needs the 3 speed shifting to be improved, worn out parts suck for column shifts. Gunni also has a reworked cylinder head sitting in the garage waiting for installation, hardened valve seats and modern valve seals.
