Thoughts on get togethers

Postby Coby » Thu Dec 16, 2010 11:13 pm

I'd like to get some feedback on a coupla things.

First off...how many of ya'll would be interested in a Dyno Daze event....make pulls on a dyno, do some tuning, get back on it to see the results...basically just spend the day with a dyno. Might cost a few bucks depending on who many folks we get to come, but if I can swing this with who I think I can get, the guy is a Ford motor god and it'd be time well spent.

Second...would any of ya'll be interested in a Bronco night at Bandimere in the spring? Test 'n tune, some friendly racing, just havin' a good time.

I'd be interested in a dyno day as long as the cost was reasonable.

Same here. I would like to.spend some time with a "ford motor god". Depending on cost I am in for that. Runnin the bronco down the quarter mile at bandimere... not so much.

But the do host a "truck festival" every summer. That would be a good place for a few of our more interesting rigs to spend the day. It could help to get the word out to a few more interested souls.

Dyno would be cool and to get some advise from a Ford guru is always a +!

They do hold a truck fest every year; I took third place in a field of 200 rigs back in 2000. We had a bunch of broncos up there representing that year. You don't have to be fast; mine was in the mid 14's and many were over 20...you just have to be consistant. It's way more fun than you'd ever imagine if you haven't been down the lanes before. It really is a blast. They've got full size trucks with campers on top running down the lanes too. Good times.

I'll get with the guy I'm talkin' about sometime in the next few weeks and see if he'd be interested. He runs the speed shop in Loveland, and he's been a fixture for years on the scene (even used to own an EB).

Not really for the bronco. Not built to be a powerhouse. As for my cobra it's an 04 mustang cobra. Bunch of mods. Guessing it to be in the range of 575rwhp 600rwtq.

Stage 2 ported Eaton, 2.8 upper, 4lb lower(total about 14-15psi boost) ported lower intake, ported throttle body/plenum, JLT ram air, 60lb injectors, Mac long tube headers, prochamber, 3in catback, 95mm maf, spec stage 3+ clutch, MGW shifter, KenneBell boost-a-pump, tuned and running on E85. I have done all the work and tuning myself in the garage. It has a bunch of other little things done also. From gauges to suspension work to roll cage/seats, weight reduction, etc, etc. It's been a blast. I enjoy every minute I drive it. A wild ride for sure. Have ran the best times for an "eaton only"(ie. no nitrous, twin screw blower. factory eaton blower) in the state. Have yet to see anyone else beat my times. Hope to lower them more this next racing season. Shootin for an 11.2-11.3 range. Old best is 11.50. Pics are in the members under my profile.

ZOSO - If you ever go to Bandermere (or other Drag Strip) - you gotta let the group know. Been looking for an excuse to go there and would love to see that Mustang run.

I used to live at bandimere. Never went once this past summer. Life just got too busy but this next season I will for sure make it out. And I'll post up when I do.

I'd like to buy you a beer or two and talk to you 'bout your experiences with that eaton sometime. Sounds like an interesting build.

Any time. It has been a learning curve. While I have thought of ditching the eaton and going with a kennebell, I wanna get the most out of the eaton.
