So I'm taking the family on a mini vacation for two nights at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort next week. What are some restaurants (all meals) that we shouldn't miss? We'll have our 5 year old along to. |

Rudys is great and afterwards a ride through GOG or head up to Woodland Park. If you like Edelweiss for the ambience or Uwe's for the mom and pop food. Borriello Brothers for NY pizza. Golden Bee at the Broadmoor that could be okay (?) for the 5 year old. |

Rudy's is awesome for some good ole TX BBQ! Good for Breakfast as well! I heard the restaurant in GOG is pretty darn good too! Most of my hangouts were on the east side tho... Crave Burger is awesome! There's a super fancy place off Colorado south of Hwy 24, but it's not kid friendly. Like $50-60/plate. |

L and L hawain BBQ is really good, but could be a little far from Cheyenne. Bristol brewery is really cool with good beer. The food is not bad either. Think your daughter would be fine their since it is an old school and can eat at the principals office. The food trucks downtown are cool for lunch. Just remember to bring cash. I think they are right by boriellos brothers pizza. All I can think of right now. |

Ahhh, my neck o' the woods. My office is about a mile and a half from there. Good eats down on this end of town: Breakfast: Mountain Shadows Restaurant - 2223 W. Colorado Ave Mo's Diner - 108 Manitou Ave (Colorado Ave. turns into Manitou Ave) The Hungry Bear (Woodland Park - 15 minutes west of town) - 111 E. Midland Ave Rudy's Little Hideaway - 945 S. 8th Street (Mexican & American) Lunch or dinner: Front Range Bar-b-q -2330 W. Colorado Ave. Savelli's Italian - 301 Manitou Ave Jorge's Mexican - 2427 W. Colorado Ave. The Loop - 965 Manitou Ave. (Mexican) The Keg - 730 Manitou Ave. (bar food, but man, is it excellent!!) Garden of the Gods Trading Post - 324 Beckers Lane (off of Manitou Ave) Iron Spring Chateau - 444 Ruxton Ave, Manitou. This is a dinner & a show place. They have a melodrama after dinner, fun for everyone. And one of the absolute best kept secrets in Colorado is . But this is only if you are coming for dinner sometime on or after the first weekend in April. Ya gotta make reservations, you gotta bring cash or check - no credit cards, you gotta like either baked ham or fried chicken and ya gotta enjoy "family style" eating. Great food there, they have had the exact same menu for like 50 years. As for stuff to do, drive through Garden of the Gods, go play some vintage video games at the Penny Arcade in Manitou (still have some penny, nickle & dime machines), the zoo, visit the Olympic Training Center. All kinds of stuff, just depends on what ya like. |
