Perspective
So I'm sorry I missed hanging out with everyone at the breakfast today. I'm 35 years old. My bronco is 45 years old. My grandma is 95 years old. My grandma took precedent this weekend and I went to see her. She has recently been diagnosed with cancer and isn't gonna make it much longer. I am not trying to be a downer, but I got to sing with her, hold her hand, and remember how ornery I was with her this morning. I think part of why we all cherish our old Broncos is that it reminds us of things. I had to say goodbye to something today and it made me sad and happy at the same time.

Re: Perspective
I hear ya man. My grandmother passed last Sunday. I knew she was a WWII vet but I didn't realize she was a sheet metal worker for the women's air corp. she probably could have put my bronco together better than I have. An original "Rosie the riveter". Time is precious and have to make go as far as you can.

Re: Perspective
Sorry for your loss.
I lost my last living grand parent about 1 year ago. I've had similar thoughts about each one of my grandparents, & how they lived. I consider myself lucky to have gotten to know each one of them, & live in the same town with them as I grew up. I can, without a doubt, see a little of each one in myself now.

Re: Perspective
Sad news indeed, my family's thoughts are with you. I had the fortune of spending many of my younger days working and spending time with both sets of my grandparents. Good lessons and many wonderful memories stay with me to this day.

Re: Perspective
That sucks. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about the medical side of things. Hang in there.

Re: Perspective
I am sorry for your loss. I'll pray for you and your family. It's hard, but what a blessing to spend time with them! I was also blessed with spending lots of time with my grandparents and even great grandparents growing up. I cherish those times! Lost one grandmother several years ago to diabetes, but my gpa still around and doing well! And both my dad's folks are still around. Just not sure how much longer...

Re: Perspective
Thanks everyone for the kind words. She is finally at peace and said that this has been the happiest time of her life. It just speaks to what a humble and content woman she was. I will selfishly miss seeing her but glad she is re-uniting with old friends and family.

Re: Perspective
A friend from long ago once told me that the secret to life is to enjoy the passage of time. You were where you needed to be..with your grandmother.
