Re: Stump the Bronco Chump!
Failed to tighten down the bolt on the dizzy clamp resulting in your timing slowly sliding off of mark until it finally failed to fire?

Re: Stump the Bronco Chump!
Well it's electrical, I'll guess a main coming off the batt was loose.

Re: Stump the Bronco Chump!
Can we ask more questions? I'm wondering if it bogged down or if it was a straight up "peddle to the floor, no change in RPM" type situation.

Re: Stump the Bronco Chump!
you said it idled so carb and dizzy would have to ok , also a dead coil would kill it . points collapsing could cause this but don't know if it's electronic ignition . trans linkage going in neutral could do this if the bolt was loose .

Re: Stump the Bronco Chump!
That happened to me this last summer on my 57 t-bird.Drove me flippin nuts!Same sort of deal, would idle all day,had all new parts,go to drive it and it would fall flat on it's face.I even had one of my mechanic buddies who's been working on hipo fords for as long as I remember take a look at it and it stumped him for awhile,so I didn't feel like such a moron. He said that's the first time he's ever seen that.Probably stupid chinese parts. What a pain in the ass!Glad you got it figured out
