Starting to get pretty pissed off over here and wondering what you guys think about this situation. As some of you may recall, I sold my '66 and '69 a little while back. However, both trucks are still here. The '69 is in the driveway and the '66 is STILL in storage (costing me 100.00 a month). I received the first Bronco check on 6 December, and told the buyer to go ahead and arrange for shipping NOW and not wait for the check to clear. The buyer is a pretty prominent member on Classic Broncos and the sale price of the Bronco was not enough for me to be too worried about whether or not the check was going to have issues. A day later I mentioned my '69 to him and he expressed an interest, had a look at some pictures, and decided he wanted it as well. Took about a week for the check to come in. I told him the same thing, "send the shipper". I don't really care too much about having three Broncos. But the wife objects, and I did tell her I would get rid of the other two. But here they sit. One costing me money and the other reminding my wife of the promise I made to her. I've emailed this guy several times and keep getting the same reply, "I'll let you know when I know". I've called him. Same thing. Now here's the thing. This guy has bought no less than 8 other Broncos since I sold him mine. I don't know if the shipper has come through for him on those. Here's what I'm thinking. I'm going to call this guy this weekend. I'm going to tell him that he has til February first to get these Broncos out of my hair or I will consider him to be no longer compliant in this transaction. In that case, I will send him a check for the full amount of what he paid for the Broncos, and they will go back on the market. If there is some sort of problem that prevents him getting these trucks moved by 1 February, it's going to start costing him (the same amount it costs me), because my opinion is if he didn't have the means to move the trucks, he shouldn't have bought the trucks. And I shouldn't be the guy paying for his lack of planning. So, what do you guys think? |

Makes sense to me. I'd be really annoyed as well. That seems like a good way to handle it. You might figure out how much you're spending a month to have them there, tack on a 50% hassle fee and present that to him if they're going to sit there much longer. |

That sux. I would say your next action depends on the contract or bill of sale that he signed. What were the terms? Was is a verbal agreement only? I've never dealt with non-local buying parties so I'm not much help. Sorry! |

No contract and no bill of sale. Simply a verbal agreement. That could work both for and against me. |

Was anything ever said/agreed to regarding a pick up timeframe? If not, that leaves it wide open. If yes, and the timeframe is up, send the checks back..use certified mail or trackable at least, copy everything, and put the Broncos back up for sale. Once you start thinking about charging a "storage fee" and not sending back the full purchase price, you complicate the situation and make it much more likely he'll be pissed. Cut losses and move on. |

There was no established date for the trucks to be picked up. All I have ever gotten back from him is "waiting to hear back from the shipper". And all I have told him thus far is "send the shippers. Don't wait." |

Thank goodness you have the money and the Broncos. Sounds like you hold the cards. Shipping is expensive as heck so I see him waiting to see if an inexpensive option opens up. It sucks for you and your wife to have them around when all you want is them outta here. Keep us updated on what the guy says this weekend. |

I would tell him time is up. Let him know where the one is being stored, take the other one to the same place. Tell him he needs to get the storage into his name then you are done. He can take his time and it is on his bill. |

Damn good idea BFD. Who can argue with that logic - no chance of pissing him off, deal going south, happy wife, buyer can arrange shipping, his schedule, headache is gone, and it is a done deal. |

Whatever the decision, I would not send him his money back. You are paid in full (I assume), the sale is complete. You have given him a very reasonable amount of time for pick up, he needs to do his part. Hate to see you give the cash back and then have issues selling. Then you really have an upset wife and your back to frustration with 3 bronco's! |

give him till the 1st. Then not refund the money and sell me the 69 for 1000. Extra money for you. |

I say every day since purchase is another $3.33 for storage. |
