 Hydraulic Press ? Does anybody know of or have a hydraulic press that is capable of pressing wheel studs into an axle flange ?

Nor did a 20 ton hydraulic press.
I'm quite sure the holes in the axle flange are undersized for the wheel stud which I know to be the correct size.

Re: Hydraulic Press ? I'm sure you know this but I usually help my pressing by heating the axel or receiving part and freeze the pressed in piece prior to the instal. Seems to make a difference in what I break or don't break.

Hydraulic Press ? If you can't press in wheel studs than something has to be wrong, wrong studs, they should be able to be knocked out and in with a hammer
If you have an old one out, measure it with a vernier caliper or mic on the splined area, should be within a couple thousandths, the new should be just a little larger than the old .0005-.002" maybe 3 thousandths

Re: Hydraulic Press ? The studs came with the rear axle assembly for the kids Crown Vic Cop Car.
I'm thinking the holes are undersized, but I suppose it could be oversized wheel studs just as easily.
We are bringing the whole shebang back and exchanging them for another version of quality chinese parts.

Holes were slightly larger than the ones in the the hacked up one, but still not big enough for the studs.
Nobody else has one so will probably go to the p-n-p next week end.
