I saw this picture on CB.com. Anyone have any thoughts/reservations with mounting the rear seat to the Wheel Well Humps vs. Floor? Seems like it would make spraying the interior easier or carpet install/removal easier. PS - Note the interior gunnel storage in rear quarter panels - like a Boat. Very cool to mount cup holders in there too like a boat. Very cool |

My main reservation is that it is too pretty! Where would I put all the mud? Seem like as long as it is adequately reinforced, that mounting would be fine, and may be superior as the seat has less leverage on the mounting points. |

I like it. If I run a back seat, I may do something similar. I've already been toying with the idea of some storage boxes in the back for things that go boom, inspired by some episodes of 24 where Jack Bauer had a sweet gun box mounted in the back. Being able to extend the box forward of the normal rear seat mounting points in a huge bonus in my mind. Additionally, I could add secondary mounting points in to the top of the box. People will argue that mounting the rear seat in to sheetmetal compromises the safety of your passengers in the event of an accident. But if you look at the stock seat mounts, they were no better than this set up. Really, the safest way to ensure passenger safety is to mount all of your seats and belts/harnesses to a portion of the rollbar and tie the rollbar/cage in to the frame, creating a completely reinforced skeleton in the truck. The alternative, of course, is not having passengers, but where is the fun in that. |

Looks like it fits like a tailored Italian Suit so I guess it is custom. |
