A friend of mine just passed on some info about OHV stickers. Apparently they are going to in force permits this year $50 fine if not displayed. I guess the law has been on the books since 2008 but has not been enforced. |

If you look on the MVUM's they show "trails". The law is written as such that only marked "trails" will require a permit. In all there is only around 50 miles of trails on the MVUM in the state. If you are on a FSR they are not required. |

This comes up every year or two. There hasn't been a consistent message from any of the patrolling authorities, in part because there hasn't ever been clear direction on whether plated vehicles need OHV stickers. The OHV money does go to great stuff, and includes S&R fees in case you're ever stranded, so it's a good investment if you're heading out to the boonies no matter what. |

My Ranger season starts in May, I'll ask the OHV enforcement Rangers if they are changing anything this year. |
