People are strange
Had my 2nd hard top listed on here and CL for free to anyone that would haul it off. Had a guy contact me from Boise Id and said he wanted it and wanted me to ship it.
told him I am doing nothing other than meeting someone at my house and helping them load it. He asked if I could build or get some kind of pallet etc. no thanks.
So in the meantime a hopefully new member here from co springs came up and got it on sunday. this guy emails me yesterday and says he found a guy in Englewood to pick it up and crate it etc etc.
emailed him and said sorry its gone as of Sunday, he emails back all bent and says gee thanks for working with me......
now really, with a hard top in rough shape even being free why would I think someone would even bother to pay shipping on something so damn heavy? first come first serve.
whatever , People are strange.

Re: People are strange
Most of the time the request to ship the item listed on CL is a scam. Shipping something that heavy and big is a strange request. I made pallets in High School and could have made a killa pallet for you to ship that free hard top. Would have been $40.00+ in supplies, time spent building the pallet, time packaging it up, time waiting for the shipper, loading it up, all to sell a free hard top. Seams like he was asking for a lot of extra work to sell a FREE hard top.
You will be blessed by the Bronco Gods for giving that top away- good mojo coming your way.

Re: People are strange
Rule of thumb with craigslist is cash is king and proximity and timing are everything. I put up a bunch of old tools a year or two ago for sale. Got a call from a guy saying he was on the way over to pick up a compressor. I told him that was fine but I was holding nothing for no one. Three hours later he shows up and gets bent out of shape when I tell him it was sold 20 minutes after he called. In my defense, I did try and call him back several times but only got his voice mail. And I did leave a message.

Re: People are strange
Wait! ...so the guy in England with a 2 party check for more than the requested amount, me sending him the difference in cash, along with my SS#, bank account number and home address isn't a good idea? You're right people are strange!
