Baja or bust

Postby ScottBarnes » Tue May 01, 2018 9:59 am

This rig made its way thru Denver yesterday to pick up a couple of club members Broncos, and haul them to Yuma. Really looking forward to this adventure, and super cool that 5 of the 12 Broncos making the trip are part of this club! ImageImage

Make sure you meet the Hallstrom's. They are in the White Bronco... Drove it from Minnesota to Moab, and are driving it down to Yuma, then on the Baja trip with us. I had coffee with them in Keystone late last year -- super nice people!!

I think you guys will be fine. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. I've added this trip to my bucket list!

So much fun!! I am literally drooling just thinking of the stories when you guys get back. I hope a least a couple guys decide to document the trip somehow. A travel log of sorts??

There should be a few different spots things will be popping up. On CB.com there is a thread called Official Herd Of Broncos in Baja. There is a Facebook group called Baja Bronco Adventure. There's also a blog set up http://info.bajabroncoadventure.com and a webpage https://spark.adobe.com/page/qxN8DP7zxxhi4/ for those of you who don't Facebook or Instagram. There will be a bunch of material posted on all these sites once we get this thing rolling. Vaya con Broncos!

and of course we will be posting here since almost half the group going are from CCB!

LOL == I didn't even know about that webpage! So. Much. Social. Media. HAHA...

I've also got my wife keeping a blow-by-blow diary so I can do a good post trip article for Bronco Driver Magazine. Tom Brannan is bringing his drone and should get some awesome video of the herd!

that truck is owned by one of the guys going on the trip. He lives in PA, and is bringing his (the Balloon Chaser) along with one from CT. He came thru Denver and picked up 2 more that are going on the trip. I’m sure he charged for doing it, but not sure how much.

Everyone made it to Yuma, and we cross the border this morning. Eck’s needed a little love on a real wheel seal, but everyone is ready to roll. Viva Baja!ImageImage

Day 1 in the books. Had some vapor lock issues early at the border crossing (it was 105 and stop and go for 30 minutes to cross). Landshark had a slave cylinder brake so we’ve been trying to bush fix it as well as source a replacement.

our folks from MN have been doing a lot of trailer time, but the CO boys are rockin Baja! My ring and pinion is whining loud enough that we need ear plugs, but she’ll get us home. Rox and Shark had an old school drag race on the beach, but I won’t disclose results! We are here for 2 nights of rest. ImageImage

seems to be doing fine. Replace them all yesterday and cleaned MAF sensor. Have an odd lope at idle, but running well. Other than my ring and pinion, which I’ll need to replace when we get back... hint hint! [emoji23]

Before I press for the results of the race, Which photo more closely represents this beach drag race that took place?
