Good Morning

Good Morning

Postby Gnsteam » Fri Aug 03, 2018 5:35 am

Hello and good morning to all,

I'm a newbie to the CCB forum, I signed up a few days ago and now I have a minute or two to post a quick hello. My name is Fred and I call Lincoln, Nebraska my home. I'm not new to Bronco ownership, I've owned five over the years dating back to my first one, a 77 Ranger in 1978. I currently own a stock 76, Cyan Red, Special Decor with PS, PB and automatic. This bronco originated in Colorado, I'll save more information on that for a later post. I'm also a forum member at Classic Broncos .com, joining in 2010 and using the same user name Gnsteam. Anyway, just thought I would say a quick hello as I start my day at work.

Fred

Thank you for the warm welcome.

As promised, here is a little more information about the history of my Bronco. The Bronco came with a good amount of original documentation. The original window sticker, owner manual and sales receipts from the first three owners were included. The Bronco originated at Dale Russell Motors in Canon City Colorado. Sold to a gentleman in Colorado Spring at an original price of $6824.85. He later sold or traded it in at Faricy Truck & Equipment Co. in Pueblo CO.

The Bronco was then sold in July of 1979 to the seconded owner living in Trinidad CO for $5238.07, with the Bronco having 30128 miles on it. This owner held on to the Bronco and at some point, moved to Omaha NE.

Sometime in 2009, resident of Omaha NE, and CB. Com forum member, Ranger345 bought it from the second owner. At that time the Bronco had around 73000 miles on it.
Around 2009, the yearning to own another Bronco hit me hard. So, I began casually looking nationwide for the best condition, and driving Bronco that I could find, within my budget of 10K. After several missed opportunities and a post, I made on CB. Com venting my frustrations. I was contacted by Ranger345, and he offered to sell me this 76 Bronco. So, we made the deal and I purchased the Bronco in July of 2011 for 10.5K and the Bronco had only 75527 miles on it.

The Bronco now has 91500 miles on it and is a true survivor. The Bronco has been well maintained throughout it 42 years of existence. Although the paint and a few other things, like weather stripping, seals, upholstery and so forth are showing their age. It’s a great solid almost rust-free Bronco.
Enough for now, more and pictures to follow as time permits.

Thanks gentlemen,

I dug up a few pictures from the test drive of the Bronco and a couple pic's with the top on it that Ranger 345 provided. As you can see I removed and sold the Warn 8274 and scraped the home built winch bumper, replacing it with a new chrome one from TBPs. To facilitate purchasing the Bronco, I had to sacrifice and sell my 2008 F150. So the Bronco became my daily driver for two years. No, heavy off road antics, so no need for such a big heavy winch.

Enjoy the pic's,

Fred

Thank you, and yes there are a few in Lincoln that I've seen, but I have not had much contact with any of the owners. But that is mostly my fault, I work way to much. Six days a week at my full time job and 25 hours during the week nights at a second job. So I'm not out with the Bronco, going to places like car shows etc. to meet others. I have met a guy from Omaha, Fred (FJB at CBs.Com) at a show in Omaha and at a meet and greet at the Bronco Connection a few years backs. He has a really nice stock 77 ranger half cab.

So most of my Bronco social life comes from you all, at the forums, which I really enjoy.

Thanks jgrow, I kind of dig it to. A one time I was thinking about changing the color, but now I’m going stick with it.
