Timing light...

Postby BNC04 » Fri Apr 29, 2011 7:13 am

After my woes on carb and timing this last week, I am looking for a timing light.

I don't want to break the bank on this and was looking at this one from sears... Good or bad?

Thanks

I got one similar, but like Zilla, got mine from Checkers with the RPMs and really like it.

Cool, thanks guys,, I'll stop by there this afternoon and see if they have one with the rpm gauge.

Checker is my 50.00 store. I never get out of there without dropping 50.00

I ended up with this one but paid 80.00 since they price match and that's what Sears had it for.

Now to try and clean up the timing marks to be able to use it..

I bought one from Harbor Freight at around $25 I think. I'm not sure of the quality but it works great and is an Advance unit so you only need to see the TDC mark. I'd recommend it if $ is a concern. I had one from Sears but the button was at the rear and you had to use your thumb to engage it. Was a bit more difficult than the trigger models but worked.

Good to know on that HF model. I will likely pick up that one next time I'm in there JIC.
