Engine worries

Postby akaFrankCastle » Sat Nov 13, 2010 7:15 pm

Tonight while I was setting the electric choke I noticed a little bit of white smoke coming from the DS valve cover, specifically coming from the oil filler cap/vent. I removed the cap and noticed a bit of white milky crap inside the cap. Me thinks I might have a coolant leak inside zee motah. Thoughts?

I rented one of those fancy coolant pressure testers before I put this thing on the road and everything checked out. Maybe I need to run it again. Getting colder and all.

check the dip stick and color of the oil , if it's mixing it will be off colored . i'd drive it and watch level of oil and coolant.

Let me know if you need to borrow a pressure tester or the exhaust in the coolant tester, I picked up both during my month long trouble shooting ordeal.

Sounds to me to be more like condensation. Pretty common. How does your PCV look? Really shouldn't see any smoke coming out of the breather cap if the PCV is hooked up right and in good working order. White smoke out the tailpipe is a bigger telltale of head gasket issues.
