Dash repairs

I am going with a Locking Center Console with Radio Slot. I need to repair the hole from the radio in my Dash. What is the metal I need to buy to weld into the hole? Can I buy it at Home Depot or is it more specialized?

or leave the old radio in the dash as a decoy so they dont trash the console trying to steal the good one.

I have thought about getting an original AM radio, 8-Track player, or HUGE CB to fill the space. Any of the 3 would look awesome. Kids don't even know what an 8-Track looks like - be cool to have 8-Track deck with Saturday Night Fever 8-Track to show them
