Justin - sorry for the late reply - surgery got in the way.
I'm going to copy the thermal insulation techniques I used at Sandia working on a flight capsule.
Basically little layers...not just one thing or type of insulation.
Mylar layers, some thermal fiberglass, aluminum layers, a heat shield here and there, some wrapping of exhaust components..etc...
I'm trying to keep the body from getting heat soaked and having that heat travel up and around areas.
I'll keep working using the IR gun to see where the heat is traveling until I have it cool enough.
The goal is to be able to be 4x4ing barefoot all day.
