...as for disposing of the coolant...

A neighbor (local fire fighter) did a coolant flus on his EB and didn't know what to do with the coolant. He did some research and made some calls, and came up with the BEST (?) option to dispose of it is to pour it down the drain while the faucet is running. He said the water treatment plan has the means of taking it out of the sewer????

...thoughts? Can anyone confirm?

I take mine to Advanced with the rest of my fluids. They really don't care what I bring it, so long as I tell them it came out of a vehicle.

I did the same research and mine went down the toilet. Apparently the treatment plants can biodegrade it. The bigger issue is any heavy metals that have leached into it.

zillacon wrote:I worked as an operator at a Waste Water Treatment plant. The above statements are true. Pour it down the toilet or sanitary sewer rather than the street or storm sewer. The Plant can handle it. The only way it would affect the Bugs in the bio plant is if a tanker pulled up next to the plant intake and dumped the whole load. Pouring it into the street or curb can affect the local ponds etc.

...Good to know! I am about to do the explorer serp swap after the now run.
