Oil Bath Cleaner Maintenance

Postby ScottBarnes » Fri Oct 06, 2017 2:52 pm

So I've got an oil bath cleaner on my '66 w/170 6cyl. The oil in the cleaner looks really dark and thick. Is there a special oil that you use in these things, and what about the filter? is it paper or foam?

Any oil bath cleaner that we had on our Detroit Engines were filled back up with the engine oil that we used. We also spayed that on the filter screen but those were steel mess.
