75 Electricial Wiring

Postby Strike2 » Mon Oct 14, 2019 8:58 am

I'm working on finalizing the 96 EFI wiring/96 Explorer front dressing and have most of it done but have two questions for now.

I removed the stand alone OEM starter harness but these 3-wires are left over from another harness to the starter solenoid
*large yellow (power side of solenoid)
*Brown W/white stripe (located in "I" side of starter solenoid DO I NEED THIS WIRE??
*Red W/blue stripe (located in "S" side of starter solenoid DO I NEED THIS WIRE??

2nd Question what is this box/relay what's its purpose and do I need it??

The relay is for your horn. The yellow wire went to the old voltage regulator (you can get rid of it). The brown wire was the old ignition resistor bypass (don't need it). The red-blue wire turns on the starter solenoid and starter.

Thanks Phil!!
Horn Relay I would have never guessed that! I was only looking at charging wiring diagrams. The internet works best when you enter the right information in.

Thanks Again thumbs up
