Has anyone else installed one of these yet? How did you put the retaining bolt in to keep the synchronizer put?

Also- with collar- only about 1/4inch of the oil pump shaft is engaged. EFIGuy gave me a part number for a longer shaft. I wasn't aware the shaft needed replacing so keep that in mind for anyone planning to do this in the future.

That will need to be clocked correctly. The 5.0 is clocked parallel to the centerline of the engine. It also requires a special tool to hold the sensor in place when your installing it.

I've got ya covered on the tool to clock it correctly.

For the hold down ya gotta be creative. I've seen a longer bolt with washers welded together and ground for clearance, or two hold downs welded together like this:

Yah- it's not installed yet- just test-firing it. I am thinking of painting it pink though.

Bonus points if you can construct the hold down using nothing more than pink zip-ties.

LMAO Eck. I may be able to scrounge some spacers that may work. Do you know what length is needed Garry?

I would put a length of pipe on the bolt to support the washer. You could even braze or weld the pipe onto the washer so they're connected. The pipe should be slightly shorter than the bolt after it is tightened down.

I cut an extra groove for the hold down. I will add a few set screws to lock the collar to the synchro.

The location of the collar is secret. So secret that I don't know where it is. That being said, once I find it, I'll make sure it gets to you.
