Rebuild power steering box - Tech day?

Postby phyler » Sun Apr 21, 2019 2:40 pm

So, I replaced the input seal and while my leak is less, my box still leaks and I don't think I got the preload correct.

That said, I'm thinking of just rebuilding it. Would love to have someone who has done it before lend a hand. I can get it disassembled and cleaned up so we just need to reassemble. If there is enough interest, I'm willing to hold a tech day.

Thanks.

Well, there's two of us! Maybe we can get one of the guru's to help us out or we can watch a bunch of YouTube videos and get'em done. [emoji23]

You may want to try and contact Viperwolf. He did mine and is relatively affordable. But you'll have to wait until he gets back from Baja! :burnout:

Thanks. I'd really like to have a hand in rebuilding it but if the difference is me doing it by myself or Viper doing it for a reasonable price, I'll take Phil. [emoji16] It's really the only thing keeping me from driving it a bit this summer.

Doing the 4x4x2 box was really easy, I don't know how different the Bronco box is. I bet if you can find a set of instructions or video, you can do it yourself.

I've watched a few videos. Once you've seen it apart, it really is pretty easy. I'd still feel better if someone who has done it was helping.
