Greasy hands and clutch plate.

Postby laffycaffi » Sun May 19, 2019 8:13 pm

Now that I've got the new clutch installed and bellhousring secured, I'm watching more videos on YouTube and two came up stressing the importance of handing them with clean gloves.

I guarantee that I handled them with pretty dirty gloves. I'm sure there are grease smudges on the plate.

I got grease on the flywheel and pressure plate, but cleaned those off with brake cleaner.

Should I remove everything and start over and buy a new plate?

That would suck. But I'll do it.

Take it apart and clean it with brake cleaner. If in doubt replace the plate
