Smoke problem on drivers side

Postby laffycaffi » Sun Jul 25, 2021 5:29 am

Recently I’ve been seeing white/grey smoke (not dark) from the drivers side along the headers.

Additionally I’ve noticed that the header wrap on that side seems to be burning off or eroding.

I had a crack in my ps pump and also a split in my ps pressure hose that saturated everything on that side with ps fluid. So yesterday I replaced both and pressure washed along the headers but after driving for about 20 min. The smoke remains. And it keeps smoking for a good bit after I turn off the engine.

It was so bad that I went back in the garage about 15 min after I came home and it. Was a so smoky and I could barely breathe just to grab my phone that I left in it.

Looking for ideas on this. Also I need to drive it to store at my dads house in Monument today. Bad idea? It’s running great otherwise.

Any reason you can't remove the wrap?

Sounds like you have something dripping on the exhaust or simply residual PS fluid. Where there's smoke, there could be fire so be careful!
