Post Grounding the battery
When I was reconnecting my alternator I didn't think I had my battery grounded properly. I've haven't had a reason to doubt the existing set-up..... ( Battery is not grounded to the frame. From the neg terminal it has one ground coming from the winch, one coming from the alternator and a small gauge wire coming from a wire harness. Thats it.)

I'm guessing the battery should be grounded to the frame so the alternator, winch, harness wire are properly grounded too.

Is that right?

Thanks guys.

Yes, you definitely want the trifecta of motor, frame, body to be grounded by a decent gauge wire, 4ga min. Anything with a microprocessor or a high amp draw with have issues with poor grounding.

What Kirk said. I resolved some odd electrical issues by grounding the body, block and frame to a common ground off the battery.
