 2150 carb help I need some help. My 74 started dying about 2 minutes after start up. It is getting fuel and seems like it is loading up and flooding. Not sure how to remedy this. I have disconected the electric choke power and this has not helped. Your expert assistance is needed. The bronco has a motorcraft 2150 which i rebuilt 2 months ago. Thanks JP

Re: 2150 carb help Disconnecting the power to the electric choke will only delay the choke from coming off. You might be seeing the choke set too tight. Try loosening the 3 screws holding the black choke housing and rotate the housing a little in the lean direction. The electric part aids in choke pull off by heating a bimetal spring. Could be that it doesn't have power to pull it off or the bimetal spring has fatigued and no longer working.
My dad removed the choke from the 2150 on my Bronco years before I owned it and never had an issue. Cold blooded and took some throttle feathering for a bit in the morning but always started.

Re: 2150 carb help Try both of those. To rule out the choke right away is get some tie wire and wire it open. If its cold you'll have to feather the gas to get it to run for a bit. Good luck.

Re: 2150 carb help Best i could figure it was a kinked fuel hose  . I did replace a bunch of the rubber hose. I got real good at taking the carb off. I ordered a new electric choke from advanced and stuff to do a petronix and new wires. Thanks to all for the help. JP
