Electric fan

I want to lose my stock fan. Anybody know of a good replacement electric fan without breaking the bank. I have heard of the liberty swap that viper did and the taurus fan, but i do not know which taurus fan. Let me know.

I got mine off a taurus, I just went to the junkyard looked until I found one the right size. It works great but I still have the stock fan. Its a good combo to have stock fan and electric fan on a switch. Sorry I'm not more help.

I've not done the swap myself, but everyone I know that tries to do this on a budget, goes with the Taurus fan. Dual speeds, thermostatically controlled, small package and generally cheap!

if you get a taurus fan MAKE SURE ITS A 3 WIRE. They are the 2 speed version. They work REALLY well. I have heard that on high they pull over 4000 CFM. Thats a TON of air. I would agree as the taurus fan move about twice the air of my Spal 2600cfm fan on my last bronco.

Wire it with LARGE wire, like 10ga. They pull about 30 amps on high.

I dont use an electronic control. I just have it wired to a 3 position switch. 1- fan is on low when ever the ign is on, 2- off (for in the cold when you want heat, and deep water), 3- fan on high all the time (run off 2nd battery). Its great because I leave it on 1 unless I am looking for heat, or if its hot and I want to keep it cooling down when the key is off.
