T-case front shaft seal leaking.

Postby BFD305 » Tue Jun 28, 2011 7:06 pm

Jonaj just got back from a camping trip with his buddies. His output from the t-case to the front drive shaft is leaking a bit. Is this an easy fix?
I assume it is just pulling the output portion and replacing a seal.....I hope. Just wanted to check before we tear into it.
Thanks!!

That's about it. Pull yoke, remove seal, replace seal. Don't forget to put silicone/gasket maker something on splines. Torque nut to proper specs (a lot). Yoke can be kinda a pain to get off, I had to beat on mine. And of course top off gear oil.

Don't take the seal retainer (thing with the 4 bolts) off if it isn't leaking. There's a gasket behind it that will probably tear. If you don't put that gasket back on it'll tighten up the front shaft endplay. If the yoke is grooved bad you can put a speedi-sleeve on it.
