Steel Distributor gear (source)
I've done a little searching and have been unable to source a steel gear for the reman'd dizzy I have. The shaft is .451in which I'm not able to find. Looks like I'm needing a new dizzy for the roller motor. I'm running the pertronix ignitor coil and trigger system now. Any thoughts on what year/vehicle I might be able to use that will work in this case? The engine is out of a 1992 mustang, and I'll be Running an Edelbrock roller cam and need a steel gear on the distributor.
Any suggestions other than to buy a 200+ aftermarket? I'm already over budget on the rebuild from my earlier gear/cam mismatch fiasco so I thought I'd see id there were any suggestions from the group.
Thanks Brett

Ah,, Ok, I see what your getting at.. The problem I think will be that the shaft sizes are different. It seems like the remanned Dizzy I have now, Has a smaller shaft Diameter than what the dizzy you have has. This one is .451, I can't find a gear that small which is making me think I will have to go with a new dizzy entirely to be able to 1- get one with a steel gear, or 2- get a more standard shaft size to be able to replace the gear.

These are the gears for Ford distributors.
Be careful with truck/bronco gears. They didn't all have roller cams. Look for the paint color on the gear.

Re: Steel Distributor gear (source)
Thanks Viper this got me thinking, I used my other set of calipers and the shaft diam is .468 which is more in line with the replacement gears out there. Time to replace the batt in the digital calipers. Sorry for the confusion. I'll get a gear from one of the parts houses here. Mallory has a drilled and pinned one that should work.
Thanks Brett
