4x4x2 box,77-79 F250 4x4 steering gear ok?
Does anyone know if the F250 steering gear box works for the 4x4x2 swap? I'm not sure if its the same as the F150/Bronco boxes I've read about. I found one, wondering if its worth picking up. Not planning the swap now, everything works good, but I wouldn't mind stashing the box & saving for later.

You may want to PM Cascadejohnson. Not sure how often he is on the board, but he does alot with these.

Cool, I will,
Rock Auto shows different gears for F150s vs F250s, so I may have answered my own question, but I know there is really not much difference between most steering gears.

Check West Coast Bronco's site. They have a complete walk thru on how to do it and what parts are needed.

I just picked up a 78-79 box, and was planning on using the '80-96?? fi50 box, I think you can use the 250 box but some power stroke boxes have to be a certian one

I remembered the WCB site and it doesn't look like the 70's F250 box works. You gotta start with the late 70's F150/Bronco 4x4 box, then you can use any number of boxes from the 80's-90's. Oh well. I really wish I had known about this when I had the 79 Bronco I pulled the axles out of.
Thanks Chad
