Post Wiring Suggestions
I need to rewire my truck since the PO butchered it so bad! I have looked at a couple and am leaning toward the Centech...Any suggestions? I figured that it will take me some serious time to do and want to make sure I make the most informed decision first.

Thanks

I used Centech and was quite happy with it. Painless makes a good kit, but I wasn't able to rationalize the additional money for it. Spend $30 and get the special crimpers for the Weatherpak connectors, it'll save a fair amount of time.

Just what justin said. We wired my dads with the centech and didnt have any issues. The painless is nice but IMO way too much money. Then you have to wrap it too. More $$$ Now If your gonna be running tons of other electrical add-ons then maybe look more towards the painless. It does have more circuits than the centech.

I rewired my 76 with a generic painless 18 circuit for like 350 bucks from Speedway Motors. I really like this kit. The only problems I had was the turn signal switch, headlight and Ignition switch as ford is a oddity in these wiring but I just shot eric001 on the CB board some emails and he helped clear them up. I went for the painless cuz i like the writing on every wire. I have extra circuits because you never know when you are going to use them. And I didnt like the mini fuses and the stock location. Best part is that they are quick.

I also put WeatherPak's on the ends of all wire connections at the lights. I didn't want to crimp a butt connector and have a chance for corrosion. A little bit pricey but worth the trouble free connection

I'm in the same boat. I went through my electrical system last night and found a lot of gremlins in there. It just baffles me on peoples logic behind random splices and wires. I must have pulled 15-20 wires that led to nowhere.

Mine had many wires to nowhere too. That's why I needed to rewire it. Dad would run a wire for something and the next time he changed or added something he'd just run another wire. Got to the point where you couldn't figure out if they were hot, ground or nothing.

Haywire will be my next harness. I already did one from Affordable street rods and it was a really simple project.
