need a template for drilling holes for my "bronco" emblem

Postby Brianut » Thu Dec 09, 2010 8:07 am

Anybody have any idea where these holes should be?
I have replacement fenders on mine and was wanting to put the "Bronco" back on and thought it would be nice to have a template of where to drill.

or does it really matter that much?
just get it close and straight and go for it?

Also anybody know what size the holes are?

I can give you measurements from the emblems to any spot on the fender, but I don't have the holes or pattern, will that help?

yes that would be good.
not sure where to measure from or to since the emblem is not on there not sure what would be best.
Let me know what you come up with.
I am planning on making the meeting this saturday and so far I have much to do before that happens, hopefully I can get the badges back on by then.....

Try 3.5 "and 12.25" for OEM. Use yer emblem as the template. There R (what 6? 8?) some pins/pegs or whatever dat stick out da back o de emblem. The lowest /furthest toward the bottom/frnt of the "B" is the lill # from the left frnt door edge (again, Passenger's side). De bigger # is from the hood/top-o-de-fender-meeting-edge. If U understand/like/need I'll gib ya the driver's side too. U don't really need it if ya gots 1. For the other 5 - 7 holes juss take a level n strike a line.
Hope that helps rather than confobulates!

Other option... put masking tape where you want the emblem big enough for the whole emblem to fit. Then put grease blobs on the leading edge of the mounting pins . Make sure the emblem is square and then touch the emblem to the tape... then mark your holes where the grease was (or just drill where the grease was) and you'll be set. Easiest way I can think of, saw a guy do it on another forum.

Which replacements did you buy? Just curious because the dynacorns I just bought came pre-drilled. Thought it was interesting that the "Bronco" emblem was pre-drilled but the side marker light hole wasn't.

not sure whos they are as they were on the truck when I got it.

just got my retainer clips for the emblems yesterday so I will be getting this taken care of soon.
I think with the measurements posted I should be able to get it close enough and then make sure they are matched.

You still need to pick up those hubs, and since yours is on the road you could just come on by and take a few more measurements from mine icon biggin

I know, life has been kinda crazy these last couple weeks.
what time do you get home this week?
I will be passing through around 5:15-5:30 ish as I am on late/on call shift.

BTW saw you headed south at lin/jordan yesterday afternoon at around 4:15.
Wife says hey theres a Bronco, oh its not a new one, just Kirk :^)

I was looking to chase it down.

That time works for me, except tomorrow (Tue) when I'll be home later, give me a ring Wed - Fri and we can meet up.
